Die Schönheiten Mallorcas, die Diversität ihrer Gestaltung, die baukünstlerischen Schätze: All das versetzt die Besucher der insula major bis heute in Erstaunen. Und dieses Erstaunen über die Schönheit (genauer: über die Harmonie) steckt auch in den Bildern des Fotokünstlers Jörg Bräuer. Meer, Küste, Molen und Hafenanlagen, Architektur, das Gebirge der Tramuntana, der Himmel - all das ist in seinen zumeist kurz vor Sonnenaufgang oder nach Sonnenuntergang mit langen Belichtungszeiten entstehenden Fotografien auf das Wesentliche konzentriert, wie Bräuer sagt:

The beauty of Majorca, the endless variety of its forms and its architectural treasures all continue to this day to be a source of astonishment for visitors to the insula major. And this astonishment in the face of beauty (the face of harmony, to be precise) is present also in the work of photographer Jörg Bräuer. The sea, the coastline, piers and jetties, architecture, the Tramuntana mountains, the sky: all these motifs are reduced to their essence in photographs taken either at sunrise or sunset with a long exposure. As Bräuer says, "Minimalist visual representation facilities a more highly nuanced perception of form and aesthetics."
